I have trouble with this review. I do enjoy the plot because it's unusual. My problem is with the gross errors. This nurse doesn't seem right. She finds a gun shot victim and ignored her training. Always call 911 once you check their airway, because no matter how good you are at first aid, a highly trained paramedic and his ambulance are what's going to save the patient. Nope, she removes the gun, uses a pillow to stop the bleeding, talks to the security guard and THEN decided someone should call for help.That fact that this rich businessman does background check on each of the staff but not the woman he is dating and decided to marry is ludicrous. He wouldn't neglect that.
I am not going to go through every single problem. But, please contact an RN before you write nurses and medical issues into stories. Two weeks after the patient has recovered from an infection don't refer to it as the flu.

It took me a bit to get into, but then liked it enough to want to find out what happened. THEN was REALLY disappointed at the NON ending. I won't spend money on a series when the first one is designed to just make you buy the next one. I enjoy a series as i like seeing the characters develop and the ongoing interaction and connections. I can see no reason for this inconclusive, stop in the middle of the story ending except to get you to buy the next one. I might have biught the next one with a better close.

I love to read books by Ms. MacBride. They are always uplifting, wholesome and easy to read. No bad language or explicit sex.
I am enjoying the general story line BUT ... the gross lack of editing is frustrating and very distracting. Apparently character's names changed during rewrites, but no one proof-read to find all of the places where the name changes were missed. As stated by another reader, the author clearly has no understanding of basic first aid. There are many places where it is morning or lunchtime, but suddenly a character takes a shower and gets into their pjs. The fact that the lead male character is a savvy businessman yet is sloppy with security issues is insulting. Let's not forget the whole issue [SPOILER ALERT] that the lead female character is supposed to be a devout Christian with a high standard for her mate (should she ever find a suitable one) yet there is very little mention about the inappropriateness of the man kissing/flirting/wooing her WHILE engaged to another woman. Just too many sloppy errors spoiling what could have been a good book.
